The Boat
The culture of Lake Como has historically been influenced by Venice. In the 1700’s, the exchange of goods took place via water and consequently also the exchange of boats. The tradition continues today and Venetian taxi boats are still a stylish way to see the lake. Long and narrow, these boats are able to pass through canals and have low cabins to pass under bridges. Venetian taxis represent an old alliance between Como and Venice.
