The Boat
The history of the Vaporina started in 1800 in the United States as a transport service to Manatthan. Imported to Lake Como in the 1900’s, it became the boat to transport tourists, though at that time they were long, narrow and with a steam engine. Today the boats have progressed with technology and have became the most comfortable and avant garde on the lake. The E-Vaporina, built by Cantiere Ernesto Riva is the first fully electric boat used for tours. This is only the beginning of ecological and sustainable tourism in Italy. Como is also the city of Alessandro Volta, the inventor of the battery in the 1800’s, therefore this boat is a tribute to him. On board you can hear only the sound of the lake.
